As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with basic understanding of safety measures
Comfortable in deep water with basic proficiency in using watercraft (Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, 2-minute tread water without using hands, etc.)
Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
